About me

 Being an unexpected leader means being a leader who rises to the occasion and takes charge in unexpected situations, regardless of their formal title or position. These leaders don't necessarily conform to traditional leadership roles, but instead lead by example, influence, and creativity. They can come from any background or level within an organization and have the ability to bring about positive change and inspire others to do the same. Unexpected leaders are often viewed as disruptors, as they challenge the status quo and inspire change through their unique perspective and problem-solving approach. That is who I am, and I believe everyone has the ability to become one.

 Lekia K. Hill President & CEO of Lekia Tech LLC and Powerful Voices App founder, a non-partisan tech base civic eco-system that connects constituents with their elected officials from their mobile devices and surveys end users to improve the social and economic welfare in underserved communities.  

Lekia is a Civic Enthusiast with an extensive background in the areas of Anti Racism/ DEI training and development, community engagement and government relations. She is a lifelong humanitarian and has a special interest in human rights, civic evolution and the welfare of Black Americans in disadvantaged communities.  Lekia holds over 15 years' experience in sales and marketing for fortune 500 companies such as Wachovia, JP Morgan Chase and Clear Channel. In 2010 she discovered her passion for organizing and community & government relations and hasn't looked back. This led her to coordinating some of NY's critical social and economic progressive policy campaigns, election campaigns and successfully lobbying for state education aid of over 1.4 billion dollars, campaign financing and statewide rideshare legislation that allows Central New yorkers to take advantage of services such as Uber and Lyft.  Currently a hybrid-preneur, she is also the Community Outreach and Diversity Coordinator for Hueber-Breuer Construction where she manages engagement and oversees MWBE Utilization for company projects.

Hill coined the name “The Real Deal Hill” given by Nationally Acclaimed Broadcast Professional and Syracuse University Professor Dr. Roosevelt Rubin “Rick Wright” Jr. due to her broad range of work experience, ethics and efforts in community service. She resides on the Board of Directors for both ACR Health, a NYS organization that provides services to individuals and youth affected by a wide range of chronic diseases including HIV?AIDS and preventive sexual health services and the YWCA of Syracuse & Onondaga County dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all and CNY Works which focuses on critical workforce, economic, and educational opportunities and challenges and goal is to develops a workforce that meets business needs and strengthens the local economy .

In 2019 Lekia received the Manufacturers Alliance of Central New York's Mentor of the Year Award and continues to mentor young girls, aspiring leaders and professionals in the CNY area. Lekia resides in Syracuse New York with her family and is committed to making a difference in the lives of people and the community she loves. She is an engaging motivational speaker with tons of experiential inspiring and insightful stories to share.
